THE IMPORTANCE DATA AS AN INDICATOR OF JOB PERFORMS IN TOURISM SECTOR

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy emphasized the importance of data as an indicator of job performance in the tourism and the creative economy sector.

Therefore, the presence of the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) or known as NESPARNAS (National Tourism Satellite Balance) is very important in its role in producing data on the achievement of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy indicators on the economic contribution of the tourism sector in the country.

According to the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Main Secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, during a hybrid TSA 2021 Results Discussion Meeting Tuesday (20/4) explained that TSA is a standard statistical framework and the main tool for economic measurement in the tourism sector where the results of the TSA will be comparable to other internationally recognized economic statistics.

This is because the TSA follows international references based on the TSA RMF (Recommended Methodological Framework) and IRTS (International Recommendations for Tourism Statistics) as well as integration with SUT (Supply-Demand Tourism).

“Today’s momentum is special because the results were launched using a different method, namely the Tourism SUT which illustrates the contribution of tourism to GDP in 2015-2019 and to the performance of the previous 5 years,” she said.

Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani also hopes that this TSA publication can be carried out regularly and periodically, this will greatly help the Ministry of Tourism in understanding the conditions of tourism, through performance indicators, namely the contribution of tourism to GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and labor.

Giri explained, with the change in nomenclature due to the merger of the Ministry of Tourism and the Creative Economy Agency, needed tourism indicator data, as well as achievement indicator data from the creative economy sector to be added value.

“We want the data to be provided by Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) as well. We hope that BPS will help provide satellite account data for the creative economy sector,” she concluded. [traveltext.id]
