THE Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) will not accept tourist visits from outside the province during homecoming the Lebaran 2021 prohibition period and only opens tourist visits for local residents of this area.
According to the Regional Secretary DIY, Kadarmanta Baskara Aji at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) Yogyakarta, Monday (26/4) said yes, of course because the regulations cannot be cross-province so we will stop all visitors from outside the province.
“The DIY Regional Government will work with the Central Java Provincial Government to ensure that no tourists or visitors come from outside their respective provinces. Even though the prospective tourists have ordered entrance tickets to tourist destinations through the Visiting Jogja application, I ensure that they are still not allowed to visit the destination tourist objects,” he said.
He added, later on during the holidays, there would be no tourists from outside Yogyakarta even though they had registered at ‘Visiting Jogja’.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Yogyakarta Tourism Office, Singgih Raharjo, said that ahead of the Lebaran 2021 momentum, the Yogyakarta Regional Government will not issue a policy to close tourist destinations. It’s just that, tourism promotion is more intensified targeting tourists or local DIY communities.
“During our pandemic, there is no policy to close destinations. This should be used by tourists in Yogyakarta to further explore the potential for tourism in DIY. The DIY regional government is also preparing an incentive scheme to stimulate the tourism sector in this area in the form of discounted entrance tickets for tourist destinations,” he noted .
He explained, discounted prices are prepared for the public or tourists who order entry tickets for destinations through the Visiting Jogja application. This is part of moving tourists from DIY to visit tourist destinations in their own region. [antaranews]
