MINISTER of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir appreciated the cooperation between PT Sarinah and PT Parna Raya in developing the Sarinah shopping center and Hotel Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta.
“Praise the lord, today can be finished, Sarinah is transforming to build a healthy ecosystem in its business model, by working with the Sari Pan Pacific Hotel,” said Erick in a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (4/5).
Erick said the Sarinah shopping center will be filled with local brands. He said Sarinah would be used as a storefront for superior products from Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) throughout the country.
“We can see the trend of local brands that are increasingly in demand. Among them are food and beverage products such as coffee, chocolate and tea that have gone through the curation process. So it will be 100% local,” he said.
In addition, the Sarinah Building will also be equipped with trading house facilities. This facility can be used by MSME players who sell in Sarinah to make transactions with large-scale buyers.
To make this happen, Erick added, it is necessary to arrange the area or increase the capacity and support facilities around Sarinah. The legendary Sari Pan Pacific Hotel is very close, so this will be collaborated. This year the hotel will be renovated on a large scale.
Meanwhile, the owner of PT Parna Raya, Charles Simbolon, stated that hotel was ready to support the plan. Sari Pan Pacific Hotel will be remodeled to have easier access to the Sarinah Building. We will invest IDR365 billion to renovate all rooms to the lobby area, so that hotel guests will feel more comfortable in Sarinah.
With this cooperation, the legal dispute involving PT Sarinah (Persero) and PT Parna Raya which has been going on since 2007 has finally found a bright spot.
Both parties intend to amicably end disputes and legal measures that have been, are currently, or will be carried out in accordance with the Decision on Civil Review, Civil Decisions of the General Meeting of Shareholders and Decision on State Administration regarding the composition of share ownership of the First Party (PT. Sarinah) and the Second Party (PT Parna Raya) in the company. [antaranews/photo special]
