AP I RECORDED THE LOWEST PASSENGERS DURING HOMECOMING BAN

PT ANGKASA Pura I recorded passenger traffic at 15 airports on May 10, 2021, only 5,704 passenger movements, down 37.6% from passenger traffic on May 9, 2021, which amounted to 9,142 passenger movements or the lowest during the period 6-10 May 2021.

According to the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi in a release in Jakarta, said the Government’s policy regarding the elimination of homecoming had an impact on reducing flight traffic at 15 Angkasa Pura I airports.

“We urge people not to take non-essential trips during the elimination of homecoming and after the elimination of homecoming. This is important to do so that the pandemic can be controlled and what is happening in neighboring countries does not happen in Indonesia,” Faik Fahmi said.

Faik detailed passenger traffic in the period 6-9 May sequentially, namely on May 6 there were 6,853 passenger movements, on May 7 there were 6,777 passenger movements, on May 8 there were 5,971 passenger movements, and on May 9 there were 9,142 passenger movements, so the total passenger traffic in the period 6 – 10 May, namely 34,447 passenger movements. Meanwhile, the total aircraft traffic in the 6-10 May period was 1,221 aircraft movements and total cargo traffic of 4,645,523 kg.

“When compared between the average daily passenger traffic in the period of May 6-10, which was 6,889 passenger movements with the average daily passenger traffic in April 2021 of 87,872 passenger movements, there was a decrease of 92.1%. For information, under normal conditions before the pandemic, the average daily passenger traffic at 15 Angkasa Pura I airports reached 224,518 passenger movements,” he noted.

He ensured that operational activities at 15 airports during the homecoming phase were in accordance with transportation procedures during the homecoming elimination period as stated in the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 13 of 2021 concerning Transportation Control during the Idul Fitri 1442 H period in the Context of Preventing the Spread of COVID-19, where only exempted flights can be made.
