EAST Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Governor, Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat emphasized the importance of emphasizing hospitality aspects in people’s behavior at seven destinations in NTT that were nominated for the 2021 Anugerah Pesona Indonesia (API) Award.
“We must have hospitality and highly qualified human resources to be able to advance NTT through tourism,” he said in a meeting with the organizing committee for the 2021 Indonesia Charm Award Night (API) Award in Kupang, Monday (17/5).
He explained, hospitality must really be able to become the culture of the people of NTT. This concept must also be applied to the seven nominations for the API Award 2021, including Pantai Liman Semau, Kupang Regency, Fatumnasi, Timor Tengah Selatan Regency, Wolwal, Alor Regency.
“Apart from that, the Mouths of a Thousand, Rote Ndao Regency, Lamalera, Lembata Regency, Praimadita East Sumba Regency and Koanara, Ende Regency. NTT tourism must be managed with the best management so that it changes the perspective of NTT residents to be more civilized,” he said.
He explained that the API Award must have an impact on growth and development seriously for tourism in this island-based province. The 2021 API Award Night activity which is planned to be held in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency on May 20, is just a minimum job. The maximum work, he said, is tourism must be able to be developed into an industry and give maximum impact on the economic progress of the people of NTT.
