TOURISM AND ECONOMY CREATIVE DEVELOPMENTS IN BOROBUDUR AREA

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy explained several things related to the follow-up to the development of the tourism sector and creative economy  in the Borobudur area. One of them is the construction of road access and infrastructure to the authoritative land of the Borobudur Authority Agency (BOB) which can begin to be worked on in the next few months.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, this was conveyed after attending the ‘Quarterly Coordinating Meeting of the Coordinating Ministry for Marves of the Borobudur Authority Agency’, which took place at the Manohara Meeting Room, Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, Magelang, Central Java, Thursday (20/5) said that the construction of road access and infrastructure is needed to increase the width and quality of the entrance road to the authority zone from Purworejo Regency through Sedayu Village along the 23 km.

“Furthermore, related to the status of the land that is being attempted to process from APL (Other Use Area) certificates to HPL (Management Rights). This is what we are currently processing with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The target is this July for Polygon II and December for Polygon I,” he said.

He explained, for polygon I itself the area is 21.22 hectares, while polygon II has an area of 31.12 hectares that has completed the fulfillment of the requirements for the TMKH (Swapping Forest Area), so polygon II is projected to be completed faster than polygon I.

“Furthermore, there is a long-term cooperation with Perum Perhutani which is already in the framework of the MoU of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). I would encourage the steering committee to ensure that this cooperation can be realized,” he stated.

Sandiaga added, lastly, the formation of a BLU (Public Service Agency). The BLU of the Borobudur Authority Agency which manages the authoritative land in Purworejo and the coordinative areas in the three DPNs, has entered the discussion and evaluation stage, it is hoped that it will be completed soon. Meanwhile, the BLU for Cultural Heritage will also be processed by the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center because it is related to management, in zone one with zone two of Borobudur Temple.

This BLU, he continued, is a concept promoted by BOB and with the support of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) is being explored with a Public Private Partnership scheme, because the budget owned by Kemenparekraf is limited while the demands for land development are very high. So it is done with a partnership-based development of government and business entities (PPP).

“This BLU will be finalized in a coordination meeting next quarter, so maybe three months from now, but the target is that this July can be finalized. Because this is a form of cooperation from three parties, there are the Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, PT. TWC and us. In principle, we have agreed in principle, it remains to be explained in the form of a memorandum of understanding which will later be realized in the form of a new BLU,” Sandiaga noted.

In essence, zone one and zone two in Borobudur will become the domain of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, which later on the land will be based on the preservation of cultural heritage. Meanwhile, for the other zones, efforts are being made to cooperate with the development of government and business entities (PPP) pattern.

“For the attraction itself, I had seen from several points that there is the possibility of creating an attraction related to eco-tourism, from tracking to agro-tourism, and also related to the advanture guided by the application,” he affirmed.

He added that our step is all out, because Borobudur is one of the five super priority destinations, and also Borobudur is able to open the widest possible job opportunities, and Borobudur with its homestays and creative economy products continues to adapt to new skills or expertise.

“So, players can not only sell online and create content, but can also tell in the concept of storynomics in order to create a just economy, an economy that sides with the people around Borobudur and really help friends in need, especially in the midst of a pandemic. and the economic slowdown,” Sandiaga finished.

Meanwhile, the President Director of the Borobudur Authority Agency, Indah Juanita, said as explained by the Menister of Tourism regarding road access and infrastructure, the Public Works and Public Housing agency (PUPR) Ministry has decided that accessibility will soon be built with the legal umbrella of the Presidential Decree (Presidential Decree).

“This is an extraordinary struggle for all of us to realize this path. For the BLU itself, we will discuss it again between the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research & Technology because later there will be a division of regions that must be ascertained, so that these areas are truly definitive, and do not overlap,” Indah concluded.
