The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, explained three steps to improve the competitiveness of tourism industry players and the creative economy in the Yogyakarta Special Region.
Sandiaga Uno in a statement in Jakarta, Friday (21/5), said that the first step to strengthen the resilience of the tourism and creative economy players during the COVID-19 pandemic is to provide skills training to create new innovations.
“First is the improvement of skills, what we hear from tourism & creative economy players, we must ensure that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy provides the skills needed for the new era, from the online-based creative economy marketing to content creation,” Sandiaga said.
The second step is to prepare equitable programs for industry players and the community, because so far the world of tourism and the creative economy has not been able to attract residents to attend and enjoy tourist visits.
“The second is a fair program. How now tourism and the creative economy are not exclusive but instead present for people who have been pressured by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he stated.
He ensured that this equitable program would target tourism and creative economy beginners who wanted to develop their potential so that this sector could develop optimally and be able to be seen by the public.
Finally, Sandiaga Uno emphasized that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is ready to fully support tourism and creative economy players by providing assistance in the form of grant funds so that this sector can survive and rise from economic downturns.
“Our assistance must be right on target. We must not be careless because soon we will launch a tourism grant. My staff and I will ensure that the tourism grant and other assistance will target people who really need it,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
