THE Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) said that the Nusa Dua area, Bali, will be a pilot project for the Work from Bali (WFB) program.
According to Hermin Esti Setyowati, Assistant Deputy for Human Resources Development for Tourism and Creative Economy in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday (29/5) said Nusa Dua was chosen because of a single management system, which made the area more controllable and supervised. Furthermore, the program will be developed and implemented in other areas of Bali.
“The main goal of the WFB program is to increase trust in domestic tourists. In addition, it is also hoped that the arrival of State Civil Apparatus (ASNs) and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMNs) will resume the wheels of the Balinese economy, which during this pandemic period experienced the most decline,” Hermin said.
She explained that as a follow-up to the signing of a Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Support for the Provision of Accommodation for the Improvement of Tourism in The Nusa Dua Bali, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs & Investment and the seven ministries agencies under its coordination immediately moved to implement the work from Bali program.
“The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs & Investment together with seven ministries/agencies on Friday (28/5) held a coordination meeting on the continuation of the memorandum of understanding held by the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC),” she stated.
Hermin explained that the signing of the memorandum of understanding between ITDC and the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs & Investment marked the start of the implementation of the work from Bali program, as an invitation to ASN and BUMN to make Bali a place for work activities. These activities can range from meetings, focus group discussions (FGD), capacity building, outbound activities, and so on.
“In the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, we are living in an abnormal situation. Everything is shifting, including lifestyle and work. In this context, it is tourism workers and the creative economy,” she added.
Meanwhile, ITDC Director of Operations and Business Innovation Arie Prasetyo revealed that his priority in the work from Bali program is to ensure the safety, comfort and health of visitors.
“By region, all hotels have been certified Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental sustainability (CHSE). Today is also the last day of the second phase of vaccination, which we do to all employees and business actors around the Nusa Dua area,” he said.
Arie continued that the Nusa Dua area has an integrated end-to-end service that is valid since the arrival of tourists at the airport. In the implementation of work from Bali, visitors will go through a thorough examination and data collection. Visitors are also recommended to only visit places of business outside the area that have been certified CHSE in order to maintain health protocols. [antaranews/photo special]
