LET’S CONTINUE TO SUPPORT ANIMATED FILMS MADE BY THE NATION’S ARTISTS

IN THIS time of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not an obstacle to be creative, all creative economy people are spinning their brains so that they can continue to work and collaborate.

Because it is undeniable that collaboration is one of the factors that must be done by creative people in the country to increase potential and opportunities. The same applies to the film and animation sub-sector.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry appreciates the hard work of Indonesia’s creative economy players, especially in the film sub-sector who are still productive and creative even in the midst of a pandemic. I was proud of the animated films made by the nation’s artists that continue to show their quality.

“In the midst of this pandemic, many filmmakers collaborate and produce products that are not only good to look at, but also have Indonesian values. In fact, they are very relevant to people’s daily lives,” he said at the end of May.

This is assessed by Minister Sandiaga Uno as having gone well in the production process of the film ‘Nussa’ which is a collaboration between Animation studio The Little Giantz led by Aditya Triantoro, and Visinema Pictures led by Angga Dwimas Sasongko.

“We want to show with animation that we can tell about things that are essential, which are close to our daily lives. With animation, we can touch people’s hearts too so that Indonesian animation can become a new milestone,” Angga Dwimas Sasongko noted.

Minister Sandiaga continued that I appreciate the presence of this (animated) film. I am sure that with the quality that continues to be improved, one day quality films like ‘Nussa’ will boast the name of Indonesia in the world.

‘Nussa The Movie’ is an animated film adapted from the animated series of the same name. This work was the winner of the Best Animated Short Film category at the 2019 Indonesian Film Festival. In the process of making it, hundreds of filmmakers were involved in the production process of the film. This activity is also part of the #KembaliKeBioskop movement.

It is hoped that with the #KembaliKeBioskop program which is supported by strict and disciplined implementation of health protocols, Indonesian cinema will rise again.

Indonesian films have been watched by more than 12.5 million people in a period of three months from January to March 2020. However, during the pandemic, as of today, new cinema visitor data ranges from 454 thousand people.

“Discipline with health protocols is the key to the rising world of cinema. We invite the audience to apply this health protocol in a disciplined manner. Starting from the beginning of entering the cinema, then buying tickets in non-cash, to wearing masks during the show. Film operators also pay attention to the regulation of indoor air circulation, spraying disinfectants before and after the film show,” Sandiaga stated.

As a nation known for its gotong royong (mutual cooperation) ethos, our job is to support it by watching movies back in theaters. But don’t ignore the 3M health protocol (wearing a mask, keep your distance, and washing your hands, yes while in the cinema area. Stay healthy wherever we are! [traveltext.id]
