SANDIAGA: I DON’T WANT WORSE EVENTS IN TOURIST DESTINATIONS REPEATEDLY

THE Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, does not want accidents (worse events) at tourist destinations to repeat themselves by encouraging discipline in the application of hygiene, health, safety and environmentally friendly protocols or cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability (CHSE).

“In the CHSE protocol that we certify in tourist destinations and creative economy centers, we must ensure strict and disciplined implementation of CHSE,” said Sandiaga in Sleman.

According to Sandiaga, accidents that occurred in a number of tourist objects such as the Kedung Ombo Reservoir, Boyolali, Central Java some time ago, then a sea accident around Sambolo Dua Beach, Anyer Region, Serang Regency, and the collapse of a bridge at the Kabui Geosite tourist destination in Raja Regency. Ampat is enough to be a lesson together.

“This is a reminder for all of us that we must improve the CHSE protocol and our compliance with CHSE in every tourist destination and creative economy center,” he said.

A series of tourism accidents, said Sandiaga, in addition to being a study material, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy immediately responded quickly through preventive and anticipatory efforts.

“As in Boyolali, we immediately coordinate to ensure the destination is temporarily closed, sterilized, research is carried out on what happened,” he said.

He explained that if a violation was found in terms of security and safety of tourists in each tourist destination, according to him, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy made sure to immediately issue a warning.
