INDONESIA’S Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno invited the motorcycle community to revive tourism in Indonesia, which had been dimmed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the ‘Wonderful Ride’ program, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy created a motorized travel concept to visit leading tourist routes in Central Java from 15-17 June 2021. Sandiaga asked all parties to take a role in revitalizing tourism in Indonesia, including the motorcycle community.
“I ask all motorcycle communities to help the government to revive the tourism sector with various creative programs that can certainly revive the community’s economy. With the ‘Wonderful Ride’ program we will pass through tourist routes in Central Java and meet with local motorcycle communities to socialize the implementation of health protocols. Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment (CHSE) in regional tourist areas,” said Sandiaga Uno in the Weekly Press Briefing at Balairung, Tourism Ministry, Monday (6/14).
In this case, the two-wheeled vehicle community has an important role in developing the world of tourism in Indonesia with its touring activities. The existence of tourist destinations in various areas can easily be reached by bikers as a vacation destination.
In addition, in the context of the creative economy, the motorcycle industry is a segment that continues to develop dynamically with various creations by its activists.
On that basis, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy made a ‘Wonderful Ride’ which was linked to the Community Joint Movement (Geber Komunitas) program. The role of the community is to participate in socializing the Tourism Ministry program to familiarize people with traveling #DiIndonesiaAja.
In the ‘Wonderful Ride’ series of activities, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy invited two celebrities who are also known as motorcycle enthusiasts, namely Darius Sinathrya and Tora Sudiro to participate in the campaign for the recovery of the tourism sector by implementing health protocols through the CHSE.
“The motorcycle community should synergize with the government to participate in encouraging the recovery of the world of tourism in Indonesia. They can provide information on access and facilities of a tourist destination to the public from the results of their touring,” said Tora Sudiro
Meanwhile, Darius Sinathrya said that collaboration between the motorcycle community and stakeholders in the tourism and creative economy sectors is needed.
“There have been many examples of various motorized activities such as adventure having positive values in relation to the world of tourism in the region. They can reach new places that have the potential to become tourist destinations for the general public environment,” Darius noted.
The ‘Wonderfull Ride’ activity also received support from various parties, such as PT Pegadaian, automotive sector companies, and the motorcycle community, including LA23 Riders. In this activity, the bikers will visit and promote several tourism locations such as Forest Coffee, Arjuna Dieng Temple, Posong Temanggung Tourism Village, Kulon Progo Kriskendo Cave, Tuk Songo Borobudur Tourism Village, Tugi Yogyakarta and Jagalan Tourism Village.
Assisted by the Jamban Task Force, community members will participate in cleaning public facilities in the form of toilets in these locations so that visitors feel more comfortable. [traveltext.id]
