HOPEFULLY TOURISM AND CREATIVE ECONOMY IN TERNATE WILL RISE SOON

INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the development of tourism potential and creative economy in Ternate, North Maluku as an effort to revive and restore the economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in Jakarta recently said I have memories of 10 years ago visiting a city that is under the foot of the Gamalama volcano. “When I go to Ternate, I always remember one thousand rupiah and there is a culinary that was almost extinct, namely walnut crab, that’s what I always remember when I go to Ternate,” he said.

Minister Sandiaga Uno also supports the development of tourism potential and the creative economy in Ternate, this needs to be carried out as one of the efforts to restore Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This recovery needs to be carried out in tandem with the recovery in the health sector.

“We encourage the program to be right on target, right to benefit, and at the right time so that it can be felt directly by the parekraf actors in Ternate. We also support the human resource assistance program so that the tourism industry players there are able to improve their abilities,” he stated.

Meawhile the Mayor of Ternate, Tauhid Soleman appreciated the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to restore the tourism sector and the creative economy. Ternate has tourism potential that is an attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.

“Creative economic actors, especially MSMEs, need support and collaboration from local and central governments. We also want the tourism grant program from the Ministry of Tourism to focus on SMEs in Ternate. We propose three destinations to be developed, namely Lake Tolire, Sulamadaha Beach, and Kastela Beach,” he affirmed.

He also added that the potential of Batu Angus in North Ternate District would also be included in the proposal for a national geopark area. He said the potential of this geopark is expected to further complement the tourism advantages of Ternate City with all its uniqueness. [traveltext.id]
