SANDIAGA: NOW TOURISM TREND DURING THE COVID-10 PANDEMIC HAS CHANGED

MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said tourism trends during the COVID-19 pandemic changed by prioritizing tours that were safe from the spread of the virus and were more personal.

Miniter Sandiaga in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/15) said, the post-COVID-19 tourism trend is tourism that can be customized to the specific needs of tourists. In addition, the post-COVID-19 tourism trend is also more directed to local wisdom (localize), tours that are carried out together with family (personalize), and are carried out not in droves or in smaller quantities (smaller size).

“I put forward that the tourism industry players in Indonesia change the ways of offering tour packages in accordance with the trends that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. I also emphasize paying attention to cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment Sustainability (CHSE). In addition, there is also the maximum use of technology in the provision of tourism services,” he said.

He added, technology optimization, cashless payment, digital information, and focused on aspects of cleanliness, health, security and environmental sustainability. The Indonesian government is currently focusing on developing five super priority tourist destinations, namely Lake Toba, Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Likupang. In addition, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also has a mainstay program, namely tourist villages throughout Indonesia to promote the local wisdom of the Indonesian people.

“Several tourist villages that have become mainstays as destinations are Panglipuran Bali Tourism Village, Lerep Tourism Village Semarang, Sade Tourism Village West Nusa Tenggara, Osing Kemiren Banyuwangi Tourism Village, and Liang Ndara Tourism Village in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara,” Minister Sandiaga concluded.
