WORK FROM BAJO CLAIMED TO HAVE INCREASED TOURIST VISITS BY UP 38%

According to the President Director of the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (BOPLBF), Shana Fatina, Wednesday (6/16) said after Lebaran with the words about work from Bali, then the bona fide of work from Bajo there was an increase in visits to 38%, especially those visiting the National Park. “In 2019, BOPLBF recorded the number of tourist visits to Labuan Bajo reaching 256 thousand people. Then it decreased by 83%, leaving 44 thousand tourists when the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout 2020. The ‘Work From Bajo’ policy has increased tourist visits to 60 thousand people compared to last year’s data,” she said.

Shana explained that the work from Bajo policy could provide positive growth to the economy in Labuan Bajo, which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the narrative about working from Bajo, continued Shana, vaccination activities that are rampantly carried out by the government and private companies in many areas have made people start thinking about doing activities outside their homes, especially to tourist destinations.

In welcoming tourist arrivals to Labuan Bajo after the COVID-19 pandemic, BOPLBF is preparing five zones that will become relevant destinations targeted for completion this year.

The five zones are the Puncak Waringin building, Batu Cermin, the premium restaurant that connects the upper and lower Soekarno Hatta roads, water from the city, to the arrangement of the container area.
