JOHNNY G. PLATE: I INVITE MSMES & TOURISM PLAYERS TO USE JPHUB APPLICATION

MINISTER of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate invites the public to use the Super Tourism Network (JPHub) application prepared by the government to accelerate micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and tourism players to enter the marketplace.

“JPHub will also be connected to a cashless payment method through the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS). Use these two super applications as intermediary media for the productions of micro, small, medium and ultra-micro businesses to enter the marketplace. Use these platforms for our benefit, for the benefit of tourism,” said Johnny, in a press statement, quoted Saturday (6/19).

Johnny brought this up when discussing MSMEs and tourism in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which had just become the venue for the peak event of the Bangga Buatan Indonesia or Proudly Made in Indonesia Movement. Utilizing the application is considered to be able to encourage MSME players to enter digital platforms.

In addition to encouraging people to use digital applications, the government collaborates with the ecosystem for national economic recovery in the tourism sector and Bank Indonesia for payments.

Johnny assessed that tourism development in NTT needs to be supported by a unique package, for example with the support of adequate telecommunication services as a complement to the beauty of tourist destinations.

“This is what we support and Communication and Information Ministry is present there through the deployment of infrastructure by generating a strong and stable signal in order to create comfort and convenience for tourists,” said Johnny.

In NTT alone, Communication and Information Ministry through the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency or BAKTI will build 421 base transceiver station (BTS) towers this year. In addition to building telecommunications infrastructure in super-priority tourist destinations such as Labuan Bajo, Kominfo also sees the importance of the availability of electrical power supply.

“For Labuan Bajo, we expect environmentally friendly electricity or new and renewable energy so that tourism also has a high value,” Johnny noted.

He added that Kominfo believes that with strong collaboration, this year’s economic recovery will go well. The government expects positive economic growth in the range of 5%. [antaranews/photo special]
