THERE are at least three important things in building a sustainable tourism industry that is integrated with the transportation system.
According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in a webinar, Wednesday (6/30) said first, there is an unstopable trend that relates to the green economy. So, this transportation and tourism must be connected to the green economy.
He gave an example; in Bali several vehicle service providers have provided environmentally friendly food delivery and transportation features with electric vehicles.
By presenting an environmentally friendly economy through sustainable transportation services, it can also support not only the business side but also support environmental sustainability from carbon gas emissions.
“The second important thing is that transportation and tourism must be digitized. This means that all services and services must be in the hands of users via their electronic devices, making it easier for a smart mobilization process, from ordering services to paying without having to do it physically because everything is done through a device,” he said.
By prioritizing digitalization, of course, the convenience of transacting to use services both in terms of transportation and tourism can be more comfortable for people who have been educated digitally.
Lastly, the thing to note is longevity. The last thing is to ensure the physical infrastructure so that the service can be used for a long time. The services provided must also support safety and hygiene factors so that people can maintain a healthy lifestyle.
“This means that the service must be able to promote a healthy lifestyle, provide preventive measures to avoid disease, and this trend related to health issues will not end,” he underlined.
With these three things fulfilled, Minister Sandiaga believes that transportation and tourism can be fulfilled to provide sustainable services. These three things are considered to make the tourism sector present a new experience that is fun and has never existed before.
Sustainability is one of the values embedded in the standards of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy through Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) to be a benchmark for good service and can provide a comfortable experience for tourists. [traveltext.id]
