CHRISTIAN DIOR SHOWS PERSONAL FASHION AFTER THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

FRENCH fashion house Christian Dior kicked off Paris Fashion Week with a live fashion show that brought celebrities to the forefront to revive a touch of glamor after the pandemic.

Actresses like Jessica Chastain, Cara Delevigne, Monica Belluci, and Florence Pugh made their way onto the catwalks for Dior’s Fall and Winter 2021-2022 collection.

“I really love being in a room with people and seeing the incredible works,” said Jessica Chastain.

The designer behind the latest Dior collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri, said she wanted fabric to be at the forefront and at the center of this Paris Fashion Week event.

He wants viewers to appreciate the details and tactile nature of the fabric in a way that is not visible online or through video footage.

This is because in recent times all appearances for fashion have been carried out online like short films. Luckily, with the presence of vaccinations and easing of activities in Europe, gradually in-person activities can be held simultaneously with online appearances.

“We were all very emotional,” said Maria Chiuri.

With a live performance, Maria said that the work of many people in her team can be more felt paid with direct appreciation that can be felt. Of course, this is different from the online appearances that have been carried out for more than a year.

“We love to make beautiful films but it’s just a little impersonal. (Everyone) was so proud to see the show, to be backstage, to live the moment with our clients, the press, our friends. In a year and a half, we lost this much human contact,” she concluded. [antaranews]
