THE SUPERCAR SUCCESSOR OF AVENTADOR WILL COME WITH A NEW V12 ENGINE

LAMBORGHINI CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that the successor to the glory of the Lamborghini Aventador will feature an all-new engine.

In this regard, it has long been known that the Aventador will be the last V12-powered supercar produced by Lamborghini without electrification technology.

Lamborghini had previously speculated that the new supercar would come with a hybrid powertrain similar to the special limited-edition but during a recent interview with Autoblog, Winkelmann revealed that this would not be the case.

According to Winkelmann, Lamborghini has put all the power it can get from the current 6.5-liter V12 and the Aventador successor will have a new V12.

He said it was too early to reveal details such as an engine replacement, but he told the publication it was not something we had seen before.

“The technology is different, it’s a completely new engine, a completely new drivetrain, a new battery, everything is completely new. Nothing comes out of the Sián or from the Aventador in the next flagship,” he was quoted as saying by CarsCoops.

The new supercar will retain features such as all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, like the Aventador. The supercar will also use carbon fiber extensively in its construction to reduce weight.

Lamborghini ships the Aventador in style with the Ultimae edition, which is limited to just 600 examples worldwide. [antaranews]
