THE COVID-19 pandemi has dealt a major blow to creative businesses. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy stated that there are still many businesses of the nation’s and local products that have not yet entered the e-commerce platform at this time.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said I asked the public to seize business opportunities through digital. E-commerce companies now accommodate 8 million creative business units, the use of technology in terms of social media also reaches 65%, with total internet users reaching 64%.
“We see opportunities open for young entrepreneurs in the development of tourism and the creative economy towards a Golden Indonesia in 2045,” said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy in his statement recently.
He explained that the creative economy opportunities through digital in Indonesia are said to be wide. To date, there are as many as 175 million internet users in Indonesia and there are more than US$135 billion of Indonesia’s internet economy projected by 2025.
However, Sandiaga said there are still many businesses of the nation’s children and local products that have not yet entered the e-commerce platform at this time. It is hoped that this business opportunity can be used by young people to open up business and job opportunities in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The creative economy (must) create an entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and creativity, as well as how the creative economy presents digital transformation with an entrepreneurial mentality,” said Sandiaga.
Minister Sandiaga admitted that he is currently preparing a number of programs that can be collaborated with campuses to increase business opportunities, such as with PGRI University Semarang, namely through the Pekraf Digital Entrepreneurship (PDE) program.
