ARTJOG 2021: THE SPIRIT OF ARTISTS NEVER DIE IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC

AFTER being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finally ARTJOG 2021 officially opened 8 July-31 August 2021, which took place at the Jogja National Museum, Yogyakarta. It’s just that because of the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), it requires ARTJOG 2021 to be carried out virtually or online. This year ARTJOG has the theme “ARTJOG MMXXI: Arts in Common – Time (to) Wonder”.

The opening which was inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said ARTJOG is expected to open up opportunities and access for Indonesian artists to be competitive, as well as accelerate the pace of the Indonesian economy.

ARTJOG is an art event that acts as a meeting room for new ideas in art and creativity. Then since being under the auspices of the Hita Pranajiwa Mandaya Foundation, ARTJOG is here as a festival that accommodates the artistic process and works of the most up-to-date artists.

Although it is currently being held online, if conditions allow ARTJOG 2021 will be implemented in a hybrid way: a combination of offline and online. However, it continues to implement strict health protocol procedures in accordance with government directives, including limiting the number of visitors.

Various Programs at ARTJOG 2021, although implemented online, do not mean reducing the excitement and privilege of ARTJOG.
