PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the draft policy for the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) is directed at supporting the acceleration of national social and economic recovery.
“The government plans a fiscal policy that remains expansive to support the acceleration of socio-economic recovery, but is also consolidative to improve the state budget by strengthening structural reforms,” said President Jokowi in a speech delivering the State Budget Bill for Fiscal Year 2022 and Financial Notes at the DPR-RI Plenary Meeting in Session Year. 2021 – 2022, at the MPR/DPR Building, Jakarta, Monday (8/16).
During the meeting, President Jokowi said there were six main focuses that the government would implement in implementing the 2022 APBN policy.
First, the government will continue efforts to control COVID-19 while still prioritizing the health sector. Furthermore, the government will maintain the sustainability of social protection programs for the poor and vulnerable.
“Thirdly, strengthening the agenda to increase human resources who are superior, with integrity, and competitive,” said President Jokowi.
He continued that the focus of the fourth 2022 State Budget policy was to continue infrastructure development and improve technology adaptation capabilities.
Then the fifth focus is strengthening fiscal decentralization to increase and distribute welfare among regions.
“Sixth, continuing budgeting reform by implementing zero-based budgeting to encourage more efficient spending, strengthening central and regional synergies, focusing on priority and results-based programs, as well as anticipating conditions of uncertainty,” Joko Widodo concluded. [antaranews]
