YOUNG GENERATION MUST PROMOTE RI BECOMES A WORLD ECOTOURISM CENTER

INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages the young generation of the country to jointly maintain, care for, preserve and promote the beauty of the homeland by implementing the ecotourism concept that considers current and future environmental, social and economic aspects.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, the younger generation of Republic of Indonesia (RI) must understand that a protected environment will be the best asset for Indonesian tourism. Especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic, which will accelerate Indonesia’s tourism destination in the future, namely quality and sustainable tourism. No longer prioritizes quantity, but quality.

This was conveyed by Sandiaga Uno when he was present virtually at the launch of the ‘Together Generation Now’ (BERANI) program. BERANI is a talk show program in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Plataran Indonesia, which will feature outstanding young people in various fields, with a different theme in each episode.

“We know that ecotourism has future prospects, where tourist destinations and attractions will lead to the concept of Nature, Eco, Wellness, and Adventure (NEWA). I invite the younger generation to inform the whole world about ‘Wonderful Indonesia’ through various communication channels, which in turn makes Indonesia known as the center of ecotourism (ecotourism) in the world,” said Minister Sandiaga.

Sandiaga elaborated, ecotourism development has a 3P formula, which considers the planet (nature), people (humans) and prosperity (welfare) which means that every human being needs to care for and maintain the beauty of nature and culture in addition to economic values that will provide welfare for the community.

The Tourism Ministry, said Sandiaga, is making preparations for maximum and comprehensive recovery (360 degrees). Because tourism does not only need to be built in terms of infrastructure, but also various other aspects so that it can provide a quality and sustainable tourism experience for tourists.

“We hope that after the pandemic, the involvement of tourists will be a lot in the open (outdoor), in order to raise awareness and awareness of environmental sustainability when traveling,” he underlined.

He added, I hope that the BERANI program can spread shared optimism that presenting a young generation of achievements, with different backgrounds, will foster the confidence of the nation’s generation to work in their respective fields.

The BERANI talk show program will be present in 5-episode with different themes, including special interest tours and other hot topics. Talkshow “DARY: will be broadcast through the digital platform YouTube.
