LEGIAN, BALI BEACH MANAGEMENT LAUNCHES QR CODE SYSTEM FOR TOURISTS

THE manager of the Legian Beach tourist area, Badung Regency, Bali, developed and launched a Quick Response (QR) Code system for tourists visiting Bali.

The QR Code system will make it easier for tourists to access the PeduliLindung application as an effort to create a safe tourism destination during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The installation of this QR Code is carried out as an effort to screen Legian Beach visitors and ensure they have met the requirements, namely that they have undergone a complete COVID-19 vaccination,” said Head of the Legian Community Empowerment Institute (LPM) Wayan Puspa Negara in Badung, Sunday.

The sticker containing the QR Code developed by the Legian community is installed at 23 access points for tourist entrances to Legian Beach. For supervision, a number of officers will be involved in monitoring and assisting the community in the QR Code scanning process.

After scanning the QR Code, the public will be directed to a page containing a link to the PeduliLindung application, a video socializing health protocols to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and scanning the community’s COVID-19 vaccination status.

According to Wayan Puspa Negara, the installation of the QR Code, apart from being a screening effort, is also expected to increase public awareness in traveling in a healthy and safe way and using the PeduliLindung application.

“With the implementation of this QR Code, we hope that people can have awareness to protect themselves and protect others and make sure they are healthy to protect others from being healthy too. So if someone is healthy, please leave, if not, just stay at home,” he said.

He added that the innovation of the QR Code system was developed independently because his party had not been able to install the QR Code PeduliLindung from the government because the tourist area managed by the traditional village did not have a number of requirements such as a Business Identification Number and NPWP.

With the implementation of the QR Code system, his party wants to ensure that people who visit tourist areas that have been opened after being closed during the PPKM period are healthy so that they do not cause COVID-19 transmission in tourist destinations.

“Therefore, we hope that people can follow this QR Code system and always comply with health protocols so that the tourism sector can recover quickly and Bali can bounce back,” said Wayan Puspa Negara. [antaranews]
