SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) passengers from Indonesia from 23 September 2021 will be permitted to transit at Singapore Changi Airport, on flights from Jakarta to destinations within the SIA Group network currently operated by SIA or Scoot.
“We are very happy because now we can welcome back our customers who travel from Indonesia on Singapore Airlines flights. This is an important step as the travel industry is gradually recovering from the pandemic,” said General Manager of Indonesia Singapore Airlines, Alvin Seah, in an official broadcast, quoted Wednesday (9/22).
“SIA has implemented various measures to safeguard the health and safety of its customers and staff, and ensure a very high level of care. Our customers can travel in peace when they fly with us.
Currently, Singapore Airlines operates Singapore-Jakarta-Singapore flights,” added Alvin.
He said the SIA group of companies had stepped up cabin cleaning activities and taken additional precautions to protect the health of customers and crew. Precautions include checking body temperature before boarding the plane and wearing a face mask at all times except when eating for the duration of the flight.
Passengers will be provided with a free treatment package containing a face mask, hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial tissue. He said SIA planes were thoroughly cleaned, with extra attention being paid to cleaning all common surfaces. Restrooms are also cleaned more frequently during flights with strong disinfectants.
Every aircraft in the SIA Group of companies is equipped with a HEPA filter, which can remove more than 99.9% of airborne microbes. Cabin air is also refreshed every two to three minutes during the flight. [antaranews/photo special]
