LUHUT: I ASK THE REGIONS TO PRESENT PREMIUM PRODUCTS, SUPPORT EKRAF BUSINESSES

COORDINATING Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan asked regional heads to provide premium services and products in their regions to encourage creative economy (ekraf) players to take part in the global market.

“I advise all regional heads, let’s support our community to be able to provide services as well as to present premium products in our respective regions,” he said at the opening of the 2021 National Creative Economy Meeting with the theme “Recovery and Growth of the Creative Economy Sector” which was held online and monitored. from Jakarta, Monday (9/27).

Luhut said the government had launched the National Proud of Indonesia Movement (Gernas BBI) campaign since 2020 to support and promote Indonesian local products and to build the spirit of loving, appreciating, and developing domestic products, especially the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. This movement is part of the program to accelerate digital transformation and the national creative industry.

As of July 2021, there are more than 15 million Indonesian MSMEs/artisans who have been onboarding to the digital platform.

“Thank you for all of our cooperation. Especially with the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 15 of 2021 concerning the Proud National Movement Team Made in Indonesia. The government, continued Minister Luhut, continues to strengthen the tourism industry and the creative economy by spreading a number of stimuli.

The stimuli provided included a stimulus to improve health facilities in five super priority tourism destinations (DPSP), a Proudly Made in Indonesia stimulus in the form of discount vouchers for creative business actors in the fashion, craft, and culinary fields as well as a stimulus for Indonesian film creatives.
