OVERSEAS ARRIVALS ARE TIGHTENED TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

IT IS certain that foreign arrivals are tightened to prevent the spread of COVID-19, especially from countries that have a high tendency of transmission.

According to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments as well as the Coordinator of PPKM Java-Bali Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in an online press conference monitored from Jakarta, Monday (9/27) said that the arrival of foreigners is also tightened for people from areas that we consider to have a tendency high or level 4, our term.

He mentioned a number of countries that were considered to have a high transmission potential, namely the United States and Turkey. There are several countries such as the United States and Turkey, which are also in the fairly high category.

Luhut also ensured that the quarantine process for 8 hearts for those who had just arrived from abroad would still be carried out. According to him, it was done on the advice of epidemiologists.

“Due to the results of the epidemiologist, it took two days to see a reaction if he (someone) got this delta variant. We are still quite okay with that (stipulation),” he said.

Luhut said the government was firm and immediately quarantined those who came from abroad, even if they came from areas with low transmission rates.

“From Saudi Arabia, the level there is also low, so on the way it catches it, we immediately bring it into quarantine. So now it’s not checked at the airport, we immediately take it to quarantine,” he remarked.

Furthermore, as an anticipatory measure, the government will also arrange a schedule for the arrival of flights from abroad. This is done to prevent accumulation and potentially cause transmission.

“Flights coming from abroad will be regulated in order to avoid congestion. This is to avoid other things,” Luhut concluded. [antaranews]
