TOURISM VILLAGE HAS POTENTIAL TO CREATE JOBS: MINISTER SANDIAGA UNO

THE DEVELOPMENT of rural areas towards independent villages through tourist villages or creative villages is considered potential in creating job opportunities by optimizing the potential of economic, social and environmental resources for the welfare of the community.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno at online meeting, Saturday (10/2) said tourist villages have the potential to become job creators that we feel are needed, especially now in the midst of a pandemic and economic challenges.

“These tourism village development programs and creative villages are one of the main focuses of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy at this time. Especially in terms of developing village digital products and services as well as superior products with the concept of one village one product within the scope of entrepreneurship,” he said.

Minister Sandiaga explained that products that have added value such as culinary, craft, and fashion are easier to be accepted by the market and boost the domestic economy. In fact, it is not impossible to be able to penetrate the export market in the future.

Through training and mentoring, he continued that it is our duty to monitor regularly so that there are developments ranging from product initiatives to the application of sustainable values.

“The role of the younger generation, especially students, is very important to be able to see the potential of tourism and the creative economy of rural areas in absorbing and creating jobs. Therefore, Sandiaga invites students to be able to take advantage of these opportunities by creating digitalized and creative economy-based Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) business opportunities,” Sandiaga stated.

He added that more the younger people who are involved in the world of entrepreneurship, the more productivity will be generated so that it will also have an impact on increasing national economic development.

“This is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs and I want a thousand people who are present here to see that in the future young people don’t graduate and continue to look for work, they must start thinking about creating jobs, starting businesses that will reduce the unemployment rate, and it turns out the data helps once. That more than 50% of university graduates want to open their own businesses,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
