TOURISM INDUSTRY PLAYERS ARE URGED TO ENFORCE OF HEALTH PROTOCOLS

IT IS recommended that all tourism industry players in various regions enforce the application of health protocols in a disciplined manner.

According to the Vice President, KH Ma’ruf Amin at the launch of the Healthy and Prosperous Movement by Traveling via video conference from Jakarta, Tuesday (10/26) said tourism stakeholders are expected to become government partners in enforcing health protocol discipline and implementing massive vaccinations.

“The strict application of health protocols and the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination is to suppress cases of disease transmission in tourism clusters,” he said.

The Vice President explained that the government had set standards for the preparation of the opening of tourist destinations with health protocols based on Cleanliness, Health, Security, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE).

“CHSE is the standard for preparing tourist destinations in line with the gradual opening of tourist destinations during this pandemic,” Ma’ruf Amin stated.

In addition, he said, the government has also determined that COVID-19 vaccination is a condition for reopening tourism activities in various regions.

“To achieve communal immunity by the end of 2021, the government targets 70% of the Indonesian population to have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. It is believed that this will change the way for the tourism sector,” he remarked.

Therefore, he encouraged all tourism industry players in the regions to adapt to various policies implemented for the sake of national economic recovery and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

“To be able to quickly rise and return to contribute to national income, we need to support efforts to restore the tourism sector by prioritizing aspects of public health and safety,” he concluded. [antaranews]
