DJAMAN Doeloe Resto & Bar introduces a new special culinary offering at Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah. Through ‘Reunion Rijsttafel’, currently all hotel visitors can enjoy lunch in the midst of a family atmosphere with the first rijsttafel concept in Surabaya, which was inspired by the concept of luxury dishes in the ancient colonial era.

According to Alamsyah Jo, Complex General Manager of the Westin Surabaya and Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah said Rijsttafel is one of the legacies from the Dutch colonial period that still remains today luxurious one. Generally, the presentation of rijsttafel was accompanied by traditional art performances that were favored by the nobility in the colonial era because it was full of intimacy and a family atmosphere.

“Through ‘Reunion Rijsttafel’ at Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar, we seek to revive the story-laden Indonesian culinary heritage. Through this program, various classic Indonesian foods are brought back to life in different concepts, such as Lumpia Semarang, Beef Ribs Sambal Matah, Mie Godok Jogja, Gurame Bumbu Cobek, Chicken Satay Madura, and Garang Asem Ayam Kampung, complete with a choice of aromatic sambal and rice,” he said.

He explained that various regional dances will open the rijsttafel experience at this restaurant. Next, the dishes will be delivered in a basket by the staff who serve you in traditional Javanese kebaya and elegant Lurik. Through the concept of rijsttafel at Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar, all guests are invited to enjoy the classic contemporary atmosphere at the restaurant while enjoying a nostalgic feel in Surabaya.
