According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in a webinar, Tuesday (11/9)
conveyed, creative industry players must continue to be creative with new innovations so that their products can compete. In addition to being innovative, creative industry players, including those from the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) category, must also be good at adapting to situations and have a tough mentality to survive.
“If all of these are owned by creative industry players, the creative economy will be able to grow and compete. I also salute and respect creative entrepreneurs in the fashion sub-sector who have succeeded in turning crisis situations into opportunities, even being able to help or support as many talents and skills as possible. workforce to survive and prosper in the midst of a crisis,” said Sandiaga.
He explained, I appreciate every profession in the fashion industry. As of June 2021, the creative economy sector has contributed a gross domestic product (GDP) of IDR1,100 trillion from 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy, which are dominated by fashion, culinary, and crafts.

Sandiaga added that the export value of the fashion sub-sector was also the largest, totaling US$15 million in 2019. Small and Medium Industries (IKM) in the fashion sector themselves since 2019 have recorded a large contribution to (GDP) of 19.5%, an increase from the previous year which is worth 5.4%.
“With optimism that the fashion industry can compete in the global economy, the Tourism Ministry also provides assistance through facilities that can encourage this sub-sector to become bigger,” Sandiaga noted.
