VISIT TO BOROBUDUR AND PRAMBANAN TEMPLE STILL LIMITS OF TOURIST AREA

DURING the period of the implementation of the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko have reopened tourist visits since early September 2021.

Meanwhile, visits for children under 12 years old will only be valid on Tuesday (11/16) at Borobudur Temple. Prambanan and Ratu Boko temples have allowed visits for children under 12 years old since 19 October.

Although tourism activities have been reopened for two months ago, PT TWC still limits the area of tourist visits to the three temple tourist destinations.

“In addition to reducing the number of visitors by setting quotas, lanes within the area need to be arranged to ensure a safe distance between visitors and anticipate crowds,” said Marketing & Service Director PT TWC Hetty Herawati, Thursday (11/18).

For Borobudur and Prambanan Temples, tourists are only allowed to travel to the courtyard or temple grounds. They have not been allowed to go up to the temple area. Meanwhile, for Ratu Boko, through the Instagram account @ratbokopark, recently PT TWC did not announce the same restrictions as Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple.

“However, tourists visiting Ratu Boko recently are only allowed to visit the garden area around the temple site. This rule also applies at Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple every Monday. On that particular day, tourists are not allowed to visit the courtyard or courtyard area,” Hetty remarked.
