WORLD SUPERBIKE EVENT CREATES MULTIPLIER EFFECT OF TOURISM IN LOMBOK

THE implementation of the World Superbike (WSBK) has created a large multiplier effect for the economy of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Even the World Superbike event has increased the hotel occupancy rate in NTB to 95%.

The implementation of the World Superbike also opens up job opportunities with the absorption of 1,475 workers from NTB, including residents from six buffer villages around Mandalika. They serve as marshals, COVID-19 safety, medical crew, event crew, crowd control, documentation, cleaning, ticketing, transportation, to waste management.

One of the tourism actors in Lombok in the field of rental transportation services can even achieve a turnover of almost IDR70 million per month, from the previous IDR10-15 million per month.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said I received reports that World Superbike has brought significant improvements, and created tremendous jobs. And the happiest thing, I received a report that the homestay we built, to tourism facilities were full of visits from World Superbike visitors.

The government through the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has again changed the duration of quarantine for foreign nationals and Indonesian citizens who come from abroad from three days to a seven-day quarantine period. This step was taken to prevent the Omicron variant of COVID-19 (B 1.1.529).

The government continues to review various alternative policies related to quarantine, especially so that these regulations are attractive to foreign tourists. However, the government is also very concerned about the new variants that have emerged, including the Omicron variant (B 1.1529) which has entered the territory of Hong Kong and Belgium. The government will prioritize the health and safety of the Indonesian people so that a spike in cases like July 2021 will not be repeated.

“Regarding domestic tourists, of course, we must improve health protocols, especially when we enter the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM) level 3, meaning that all tourism and creative economy players must also be able to increase vigilance and caution, because this Omicron variant is from the literature I received. has the potential to have a much higher deployment power than the delta variant,” Sandiaga remarked.

Sandiaga also explained that the government will evaluate the opening of tourist destinations for foreign tourists on a regular basis, which will be coordinated by the Kemenkomarves and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“This number of countries will be evaluated because there will be several countries experiencing a spike in cases both before the Omicron and during the Omicron, so the number of countries that are routinely evaluated every week will be announced after a limited meeting,” he noted.

On that occasion, Sandiaga also introduced a creative economy product, namely Bio Sneakers NODE (No Deforestation), namely shoes with local natural fibers produced with environmental considerations. And also Helmet Trooper, a local helmet product with a touch of hand creativity in the form of a unique painting on the helmet.

“I have also used NODE products and this trooper helmet, the shoes and helmet are comfortable to use. We must be proud of this local product from this creative young Indonesian,” he said.

Director of PT Karya Adyatma Sejahtera – NODE’s Bio Sneakers, David Chrisnaldi, explained that NODE shoes are 100% plant-based. The main eco-friendly components in these sneakers include soft and strong hemp fiber, antibacterial bamboo fiber, cotton, natural rubber, coconut oil, and of course nanobiolisilika from rice husks as a result of research from Balitbangtan.

“Nanobiosilica from rice husk provides footwear with high flexibility (strong and flexible, and not stiff), high grip (anti-slip) even in wet conditions, still light, so comfortable and safe to wear,” said David.

Meanwhile, Chief Creative Relations Helm Trooper Custom, Ai Syarif, explained that the advantage of Helm Trooper is that it puts forward personality and customer mindedness, which is not just a helmet, but also an expression of art and culture.

“The innovation of this helmet is to combine the elements of craft, namely the painting with vintage and retro patterns from the helmet. This helmet also supports comfort and safety. This helmet also uses a Double D Ring so it doesn’t come off easily when used,” Ai concluded. [traveltext.id]
