NO LONGER, INDONESIAN TOURISTS PLAN TO BE VISA-FREE TO VISIT TURKEY

TURKEY plans to revoke visa requirements for Indonesian citizens who will go to the country. In view of the fraternal relations that have been established since centuries ago in the history between the people of Turkey and Indonesia, as well as the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Turkey has decided to revoke the visa requirements for Indonesian citizens traveling to Turkey, the Turkish Embassy in Jakarta said through official statement, Friday (12/24). The decision to release visas for Indonesian citizens is based on Turkish Presidential Decree No. 4930 which was published on December 22, 2021 in the State Gazette of the Republic of Turkey.

Thus, ordinary Indonesian passport holders are exempted from their travel visa requirements to Turkey for tourist and transit purposes with a stay of up to 30 days.

“We believe that this friendly step taken by Turkey will enhance the brotherly ties that exist between the two countries, and will help promote people-to-people contacts, as well as business relations,” said the Turkish Embassy in Jakarta.

However, when the visa-free travel policy for Indonesian citizens to Turkey is implemented is still under further discussion by the Turkish government.

Meanwhile, according to the Indonesian Ambassador to Tuki, Muhammad Iqbal said we will wait for written communication from the Turkish side to convey that the visa exemption will take effect.
