JUANDA AIRPORT OPENS DOORS TO INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS GRADUALLY

JUANDA International Airport has begun to open the arrival gate for international travelers, but this is being done in stages.

At the Coordination Meeting for the Opening of Juanda Airport for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN), the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the readiness of the airport and quarantine areas was quite good.

“In general, the readiness of Juanda Airport and the quarantine area is good, but I ask that the airport opening be carried out in stages, for example, once a week there is an evaluation, there is a learning process,” Luhut said in a written statement, Friday (12/31).

For the initial stage, Juanda Airport can receive three international flights per week and only for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).

According to Luhut, the evaluation will be carried out every week. If the results are good, it is possible that the number of international flights will be increased.

“I ask for strict supervision so that there are no leaks. In addition, make sure all the logistical needs of the quarantine home can be met and the budget is available,” he said.

He added, I also ordered that all workers, from airport workers to quarantine places, be given adequate protection and tested regularly. [antaranews/photo special]
