ENCOURAGE TOURISM RECOVERY, BALI SHOULD RELY ON MICE ACTIVITIES

BALI ISLAND needs to rely on Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) activities to encourage tourism recovery for this year.

According to the Secretary General of the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (PHRI), Maulana Yusran previously said 70% of current tourism visits are MICE, while only 30% is used for leisure tourism. Bali must also rely on MICE to encourage tourism recovery.

“Moreover, next year, Bali will get a breath of fresh air by becoming the location of a number of international agendas, such as the G20 and World Tourism Day. Bali is like that, 70% of MICE is to encourage accelerated recovery, this MICE agenda must be pushed so that the potential for Bali to rise can be seen,” he said.

He added that the MICE event held in Bali would have a greater effect than regular tourist visits. The reason is that tourists who come to participate in the MICE agenda in Bali are seven times more qualified because they have a higher spending of money.

“In fact, the MICE tourists are considered capable of reviving the Balinese economy because they will shop for creative goods to eat at restaurants and enable tourist transportation. This focus on MICE will greatly accelerate recovery and make tourism better, if we are still talking about recovery from 2023-2025 it will take a long time,” he concluded. [sources/photo special]
