THE GOVT WILL IMPLEMENT TRAVEL BUBBLE DURING MANDALIKA CIRCUIT MOTOGP

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) rode a motorbike to the Mandalika Circuit in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, on Thursday at around 10:00 WITA. After arriving at Lombok International Airport, the President together with a group of government officials checked the readiness of airport facilities and then left the arrival terminal at the airport.

From the airport, President Jokowi rode a custom metallic green motorbike to the Mandalika Circuit via Jalan Bypass Mandalika Lombok to simulate the arrival of MotoGP spectators. The President visited Lombok Island to check the readiness of facilities and infrastructure to support the implementation of MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, which is scheduled to take place from 18 to 20 March 2022.

President Jokowi will be a simulator for the arrival of MotoGP spectators, starting from the arrival and the road to the circuit, where is the PCR (test) place and where is the ticket exchange until entering the circuit stands.

Meanwhile, Field Commander for the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP Preparation, Marshal (Ret.) Hadi Tjahjanto, hopes that the travel bubble mechanism can be applied during the Mandalika Circuit MotoGP event on March 18-20, 2022.

“This is to anticipate the risk of the COVID-19 virus entering Indonesia, when the participants and the MotoGP team arrive. Before they arrive, they already know the number and have PCR (polymerase chain reaction) or not,” Hadi said in his written statement at Praya, Thursday. (1/13).

He explained, if so, what were the results. If negative please enter, get off at Lombok International Airport. This mechanism will also facilitate the next process where after the administrative check is complete, the group will be placed in the respective hotel where they are staying.

“At the hotel, PCR tests will continue to be carried out. Before the results come out, they will stay at the hotel. This has entered the bubble process and all hotel workers have also been confirmed to be free of the virus through PCR examinations,” he said.

He added that the hotel where the team is located is also required to prepare one floor to carry out quarantine if the PCR results turn out to be positive.

According to the plan, said Hadi, in the near future four hotels will be established for team officials and racers participating in the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP. I will also propose to the BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency), the Ministry of Health, the COVID-19 Task Force to assign special personnel who will handle COVID-19 at the Wisma Atlet.
