THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy with PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (InJourney) or Tourism & Supporting BUMN Holding will definitely use every strategic opportunity in efforts to restore national tourism.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in the Weekly Press Briefing, Monday (1/17) in Jakarta, said that for now the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and InJourney will immediately synergize and collaborate intensely to fulfill Indonesia’s mission to become a superior tourism destination.

“The Tourism Ministry will discuss further with InJourney about what programs can be synergized with the activities of the BUMN companies. Some of the activities that are said to be synergized are the G-20 Summit, the Mandalika MotoGP, and the ASEAN Summit,” he said.

He explained that apart from that, there were also synergies in the development of five Super Priority Destinations (DSP), namely Mandalika in Lombok, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Likupang in North Sulawesi, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, and Borobudur in Central Java.

“This step is an effort to realize an integrated tourism ecosystem, especially in developing the main elements of tourism, attractions, accommodation, and accessibility (3A) in these leading destinations,” Minister Sandiaga stated.

Furthermore, he continued it is also hoped that the InJourney will accelerate the recovery of tourism, which this year is focused on recovery in Bali, five DSPs, and other leading destinations such as Batam-Bintan, Banyuwangi, East Java, and Bandung, West Java.

“The new BUMN Holding is an important part of the tourism ecosystem in supporting the recovery of the tourism sector and can develop its business in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by relying on the strength of domestic tourists,” he remarked.

Borrowing a statement from the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, said Sandiaga Uno, this holding will focus on the development and creation of potential and large domestic tourism potential, as well as integrating it into an ecosystem from upstream to downstream.

“InJourney will focus on developing the potential of domestic tourism considering that international travel restrictions are still limited by targeting domestic tourist visits of 330 million tourists this year. Meanwhile, the target of foreign tourists is 17 million tourists,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
