TAKE A LOOK THE CONTENTS OF THE WORLD’S LARGEST CRUISE SHIP DEBUTING TODAY

THE WONDER of the Seas cruise ship from Royal Caribbean will make its maiden voyage on Friday local time from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Caribbean. The newest ship in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class is claimed to be the largest in the world with a length of 362 meters and a width of 64 meters.

It weighed 236,857 gross tons, beating its sister ship Symphony of the Seas which reached more than 8,700 gross tons. Wonder of the Seas has 18 decks that can accommodate nearly 7,000 guests at full capacity.

“As it takes the revolutionary Oasis Class ships to new levels of wonder, innovation and adventure, Wonder sets the stage for the spring and summer holidays that families and all travelers look forward to in the new year,” said Royal Caribbean President Michael Bayley, quoted from The Street, Friday (3/4).

According to Bayley, Wonder of the Seas is the latest innovative ship with various facilities provided including entertainment, dining areas, to nightlife. The new ship also offers a number of experiences, including having the only Royal Caribbean suite environment. This new area contains a swimming pool, a Coastal Kitchen restaurant, and a special sundeck area for suite passengers.

The Wonder Ship also offers a new restaurant concept, Mason Jar, with South American specialties such as biscuits and fried chicken as well as a special drink menu, for lunch, dinner and dinner.

Wonder of the Seas features Wonder Playscape, an interactive outdoor play area; Ultimate Abyss, the highest slide in the sea; FlowRider surf simulator; rock climbing wall; and the Central Park neighborhood which is lined with more than 20,000 native plants.

The Wonder of the Seas ship also offers country music at Mason Jar, live shows, karaoke at the Music Hall, to bands playing Bolero music.

Wonder of the Seas was built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. After sailing to the Caribbean, the cruise will also sail to the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona and Rome in May. [antaranews/photo special]
