SIX AIRPORTS IN INDONESIA SUCCESSFULLY BECOME THE BEST IN ASIA-PACIFIC

SIX AIRPORTS managed by PT Angkasa Pura I won an award as “Best Airports in Asia Pacific by Size & Region” in 2021. This award was given at the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2021 from Airport Council International based in Montreal, Canada.

The six airports that won awards at the 2021 ASQ Awards are Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport (SAMS) Sepinggan Balikpapan, and Yogyakarta International Airport for the category of capacity of 5-15 million passengers per year.

Then, there is General Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang and Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo for the category of capacity of 2-5 million passengers per year. Lastly, Ambon Pattimura Airport for the category of capacity under two million passengers per year.

However, the ASQ Best Airports by Size and Region category is assessed based on the number of questionnaires that show the overall satisfaction score at an airport in the past year, launched the official website of Airport Council International (ACI), Friday (11/3).

“This award is a form of international recognition for Angkasa Pura I’s commitment to maintaining the best service standards. In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, Angkasa Pura I always listens, adapts, and prioritizes service to all service users by prioritizing safety aspects, security, comfort and health,” said Angkasa Pura I President Director Faik Fahmi in a press release.

He explained that the management also expresses their deepest gratitude to all business partners, communities and relevant stakeholders at the airport, especially at the six airports, for the synergy and collaboration that has been established so that Angkasa Pura I can achieve this achievement.

Meanwhile, ACI World Director General, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, also expressed his pride for the airports that won awards at the 2021 ASQ Awards.

“The winners of the 2021 ASQ Awards have demonstrated their commitment and leadership in providing the best customer experience in the midst of the challenging COVID-19 pandemic situation,” said Luis Felipe de Oliveira.

For information, ASQ is the only global benchmarking program that measures the level of satisfaction of service users at airports through 34 key performance indicators. From data collected in 2021 from more than 370,000 surveys, 111 awards have been won by 88 airports worldwide for the Best Airport by Size & Region category. [sources/photo special]
