MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy has urged regional governments and tourism destination managers to examine the adequacy and safety of facilities for tourists during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno during a weekly press briefing here on Monday (4/25), asked entrepreneurs to prepare tourism destinations for welcoming tourists. The preparations include preparing parking spots, handling traffic to prevent congestion, and maintaining cleanliness by preparing waste bins and janitors.
“They further cover implementing the health protocols based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) standards. The Eid al-Fitr holiday has presented an important opportunity to tourist destination managers in every region to increase their profits from visitors,” the minister said.
Sandiaga explained that tourism entrepreneurs must prepare the destinations long before the holiday begins to ensure smooth operation and to make sure that tourists feel safe, comfortable, and have happy memories while visiting.
“Of course, this preparation will be adjusted based on the PPKM (public activity restriction) level and health protocol as well as CHSE standards in various tourism destinations,” he remarked.
As for the tourists, Uno asked them to follow the health protocols strictly and get the booster vaccine before going on an Eid al-Fitr holiday. In addition, travelers are expected to use digital applications prepared by a number of tourist destinations to order entry tickets.
“This is being done to prevent long queues at entry booths and to implement a cashless lifestyle. The current conducive situation with the COVID-19 under control must be maintained,” the minister stressed. [traveltext.id]
