Sustainable tourism does not only look at environmental issues and environmental welfare, but also must promote local culture, society, and traditional knowledge. And create a balance of mass tourism and quality tourism.

To achieve this, a multi-stakeholder approach is needed, both the tourism, public and private sectors need to be involved and collaborate with each other and with local communities.

“We have a commitment to sustainable tourism and it turns out that it is sustainable tourism that opens up business opportunities for MSME merchants and also jobs. Previously, we have seen MSMEs being fostered and after this there will be trainings,” said Sandiaga.

This 50-vehicle electric vehicle service will be used in the near future so that it can be used by tourists during the upcoming holidays.

“And I hope that more will be rolled out in the future and cooperate with tourist villages and Balkondes. And support the program that we have initiated, namely the trail of civilization. I encourage Grab and other collaborating partners to reach as many tourist villages as possible because there are 3,500 tourist villages that already exist in the tourist village network that we collect at the Tourism Minsitry,” Sandiaga remarked.
