INDONESIA TO HOST THE 2022 GLOBAL TOURISM FORUM ANNUAL MEETING

THE INDONESIA Tourism Forum will host the 2022 Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting which is planned to be held in Bali, next November.

“The Global Tourism Forum’s annual meeting is the largest event on the GTF scale. This GTF annual meeting will present 2000 delegates consisting of a large number of tourism industry executives, investors and high-ranking officials from many countries around the world,” explained Indonesia Tourism Forum (ITF) Chairman Sapta Nirwandar at the launch of the Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting at Pullman Hotel Jakarta, Wednesday (5/25).

Besides Sapta, the launching of the GTF Annual Meeting was also attended by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno and Bulut Bagci President of the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI),

Officially the Minister Sandiaga Uno will invite world investors, tourism industry players and all relevant stakeholders to make this event a success. As he stated that the selection of Bali as a venue by WTFI is a very appropriate choice and can be a milestone in the revival of Indonesian tourism.

The arrival of the President of the WTF Bulut Bagci and the team to Jakarta in addition to attending the launching of the 2022 GTF Annual Meeting, they will also carry out site inspections at several facilities in Bali that are deemed appropriate as venues. For a few days team will stay in Bali. It is expected that the 2022 GTF Annual Meeting in Bali will be attended by at least more than 500 participants from all over the world. WTFI will invite world investors to come and pay attention to Indonesia’s tourism development in an effort to revive it.

The international community’s trust in Indonesia as a safe tourist destination is still strong and is the basis for Indonesia’s selection as the host of the 2022 Global Tourism Forum (GTF) Annual Meeting.

“The annual GTF meeting will be a new milestone for the revival of the Indonesian tourism industry. We can use this event as a momentum to convey a message to the world that Indonesia has succeeded in quickly recovering its tourism industry after the pandemic,” said Sapta Nirwandar.

The GTF annual meeting is organized by the Indonesia Tourism Forum (ITF) in collaboration with the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI) and is fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Government of Bali and all tourism industry associations.

Sapta is grateful to the government for being able to handle the COVID-19 pandemic well so that cases have decreased significantly.

“The holding of the GTF annual meeting is a series of the summit of the G20 world leaders meeting in Bali. Thank God the government was able to handle the pandemic well, because this is the main guarantee. All eyes of the world will turn to Indonesia, and to Bali,” said Sapta Nirwandar.

Sapta Nirwandar revealed that the Annual Meeting Global Tourism Forum (GTF) plays an important role in attracting direct investment into the country.
