INDONESIA PLANS WILL LAUNCH CRUISE SHIP TOUR TO START IN JULY 2022

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy revealed plans to launch cruise ship tours in Indonesia in July 2022.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said that we will launch a cruise which is planned to start in July until the end of the year. The necessary regulations have been issued,” said Sandiaga in the Weekly Press Briefing at the Sapta Pesona Building, Monday (6/13).

He continued that cruise ship tourism could increase the number of visits by around 2,000 to 3,000 people to a destination.

Sandiaga said that initially the prioritized destinations for this cruise ship tour were Batam, Bintan, Surabaya and North Bali. However, it will be added to Tanjung Benoa, Belitung, Labuan Bajo and Bau-Bau in Southeast Sulawesi.

“And this will continue to increase. We are very serious in developing Indonesia as a cruise ship destination, both regional and international. We also increase the readiness of marine infrastructure,” he added.

In addition to efforts to increase the number of visits, the Ministry of Tourism is currently looking for a travel pattern that can support the quality of spending by foreign tourists visiting Indonesia, although the number of visits has not returned to normal.

“Therefore, we will expand the tourism products that we have. So even though the number of seat capacity or the number of flights is limited, once they enter Indonesia, they can stay longer,” he remarked.

For example, he gave an example to Bali and Wakatobi which have the potential to build special interest tours, such as diving to increase the length of stay of tourists and the quality of their shopping while in Indonesia.

“Last week I went to Wakatobi. If a pattern of travel from Bali to Wakatobi is built, this is very extraordinary for special interest tourism such as diving. This can improve the quality of the length of time the tourists stay and also the quality of their shopping while they are in Indonesia,” he concluded. trade. [traveltext.id/photo special]
