DIGITALIZATION PUSHES NTT’S TOURISM ECOSYSTEM TO BE ADVANCED & SUSTAINABLE

THE DIGITALIZATION of tourism services in the province is able to encourage the local tourism ecosystem to become more advanced, sustainable and sustainable.

“For information, the NTT Provincial Government will implement a quota system starting August 1, 2022 and increase the cost of tourist visits to Komodo Island, Padar Island, and the surrounding waters to IDR3.75 million per person. These fees apply to both local and foreign tourists,” he said.

Furthermore, as of August 1, 2022, tourists must register through the INISA application to be able to visit Komodo Island, Padar Island, and the surrounding waters. These provisions also apply to travel agents who provide travel services to these tourist destinations.

The INISA application is a digital platform to make it easier for the public to access various public services in NTT. INISA services consist of various kinds ranging from Digital ID, Billing Centers, Tourism Centers, Tax Centers, Digital Payments, and PeduliLindungi.

In addition, the government also limits visits to a maximum quota of 219 thousand people per year. Tourists will be directly directed to queue the following year if they do not get a quota in the selected year.

“The hope is that by implementing this policy, it should have a positive impact, both for the people’s economy and for tourism players,” said Edistasius.

Edistasius also hopes that the government and related parties will be able to provide further education to local communities, travelers, and business actors in the tourism sector, so that the policies that have been set can be useful.

“Let’s work together to provide education and confidence, so that in turn, this policy will have a positive impact for the good of the people, including tourism actors,” he added.

In agreement, the Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, NTT Zet Sony Libing, said that policies related to Komodo tourist destinations were able to preserve these ancient animals for longer.

“There is no single policy to harm the people. All of these aims are to keep Komodo, which is a gift for the land of Manggarai, preserved forever, so that it can live for tens of millions of years,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
