LOMBOK INT’L AIRPORT IS READY TO SERVE THE ARRIVAL OF G20 DELEGATES

PT ANGKASA Pura I, Lombok International Airport, West Nusa Tenggara, stated that his party was ready to receive the arrival of the VVIP G20 delegation in November.

“Lombok Airport will be one of the parking locations for the VVIP G20 delegation aircraft in 2022. We ensure the availability of parking stands for the delegation aircraft,” said Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura Lombok Airport, Arif Haryanto in Praya, Thursday (10/13).

He said Lombok Airport allocated aircraft parking for four narrow body aircraft or two wide body aircraft specifically for VVIP aircraft for the G20 delegation.

At the same time, it also accommodates the parking of wide body aircraft transporting the World Superbike (WSBK) logistics which will be held at Pertamina Mandalika Internasional Street Circuit on November 11-13.

In addition, Lombok Airport has also prepared parking locations for Indonesian Air Force security aircraft for G20 activities, as well as regular flights at Lombok Airport.

“Besides that, what will change during the WSBK event will be the G20 activities,” he said.

He said the improvement of facilities in order to support the WSBK and MotoGP events at the Mandalika Circuit had been carried out, so that the WSBK logistics arrival service, in principle, was ready, both from the runway, apron, and cargo facilities.

“The existing facilities are ready to accept the arrival of wide-body aircraft,” he said.

This year Indonesia will host the G20 presidential meeting and will be centered in Bali. However, several series of G20 activities besides being held in Bali, will be held in Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Sorong, Lombok, Surabaya, Labuan Bajo, Lake Toba, Manado, Malang, and other areas with a total of 19 cities. At the G20 Forum, Indonesia is the only member of ASEAN to join. [antaranews/photo special]
