We also congratulate Andi Acho for his solo exhibition this time at ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta.

Meanwhile Andi Acho Mallaena, a man born in Palopo, South Sulawesi, who started exploring his artistic character in 2019. Acho, as he is known, finds similarities in experiences where he is an urban person.

“PAST CONTINUOUS is also not from just any title, the linguistic terms are also very common to listen to. It is a past sentence structure that is still ongoing today. It is through the idea of creation and this idea that I express the works exhibited at ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta,” he said.

In this exhibition, Acho conveyed that there is an appreciation of intelligent people’s thoughts that develop from birth to become human beings which are in complete contrast to the development of today’s knowledge (society 5.0). The works on display this time describe urban mythology.

zodiacs to express ideas

“I borrowed the zodiac to express creative ideas through paintings in the style of street art. In the artworks displayed there are also ideas that record traces of civilization that have been influenced by integrative media by the Indonesian digital community to problems of hacked space such as time from the past being acquired to the present,” he remarked.

He added that all the works that I display in this exhibition are the twelve types of zodiac in the world of astrology, from Capricorn to Sagittarius. Zodiac as an idiom to realize the idea of his work represents a popular urban mythlogy. Zodiac which is an astrology belief in ancient Greece, until now it is felt to be very relevant for some people to represent characters, predict fate, luck and love life.

“Hopefully the works of art that I display can be enjoyed by hotel guests and also the people of Jakarta,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
