AFTER being launched globally last month, the integrated digital platform, Nusuk, is now officially launched in Indonesia by the Saudi government through its inaugural face-to-face roadshow in Jakarta, under the leadership of His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah. The launched of the platform in Bahasa Indonesia is in line with the mission to welcome more Muslims to Saudi Arabia than in previous years.

According to Alhasan AlDabbagh, Nusuk Chief Market Officer Asia-Pacific at the opening of the Nusuk roadshow in Jakarta, Monday (10/24) said Nusuk is an integrated digital platform owned by the Saudi Arabian government that will make it easier for pilgrims and tourists to travel for Umrah and visit Mecca and Medina.

“As part of a broader program, Nusuk will provide more options and enhance and enrich the overall experience for Muslims visiting Saudi Arabia,” he said.

He explained, this platform will enable simpler arrival procedures for visitors to perform Umrah and a variety of new services that will include; visa facilities, permits, booking processes and procedures along with special packages for Mecca, Medina and a number of other historical religious sites in Saudi.

“By simplifying the process, Saudi Arabia is opening the gate and anticipating a significant increase in the number of pilgrims and visitors from Indonesia over the next 12 months. By removing obstacles, Saudi is opening a gate that will allow more Muslims than ever to visit Mecca and Medina for both Umrah and Pilgrimage,” he noted.

During the roadshow, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with the aim of facilitating further procedures and developing partnerships. Representatives from Nusuk also met with leading Indonesian travel and umrah agencies and DMC industry players to discuss Saudi religious, cultural and historical sites, as well as efforts to improve air connectivity from Indonesia to Saudi.

Meanwhile, Fahd Hamidaddin, Managing Director of Nusuk, stated, “The launch of Nusuk is one of the most significant announcements since Saudi eVisa in 2019 and to date, has been visited by more than half a million people. We are on a journey of continuous innovation and today’s launch of the platform in Bahasa Indonesia is a testament to our agility in responding to market needs.”

“The Saudis are eager to welcome more Muslim tourists from Indonesia and around the world than ever before. Through Nusuk and working with our business partners, namely travel agents in Indonesia, we are removing barriers, expanding travel options and options and lowering costs to make it easier for Muslims to carry out their spiritual journey with comfort and confidence,” he remarked.

He concluded that Indonesian citizens must apply for a visa to visit Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has now lifted all travel restrictions in light of the COVID-19 for international travelers and visitors from Indonesia. Visitors with any Saudi visa will be able to perform Umrah, outside the Hajj season. [traveltext.id]
