GARUDA INDONESIA FINALLY REOPENS BALI-SEOUL FLIGHT ROUTE VICE-VERSA

GANDI Sulistiyanto, Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea inaugurated the reopening of the Seoul-Bali flight route recently, by Garuda Indonesia. The reopening of flight routes is welcomed, especially in December, usually many South Koreans and countries in the North region have year-end holidays.

The opening of the Bali-Seoul flight route and vice versa is expected to further increase the number of tourist visits from South Korea to Indonesia. Ambassador Sulis explained that in 2023, Indonesia and South Korea will commemorate 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations and the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul will hold a series of activities that mark the close diplomatic relations between the two countries. This direct flight from Incheon to Denpasar further strengthens bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, Vice President of Garuda Indonesia for International Area, Dian Ediono, said that Garuda Indonesia aircraft will serve the Incheon – Denpasar route twice a week, namely every Sunday and Monday. The airline used is type A 330-300 with a capacity of 251 passengers consisting of 36 business class and 215 economy class.

The first flight from Seoul to Denpasar will take off with GA817 at 11.35 and arrive at 17.50 WITA at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Sunday, 4 December 2022. Meanwhile the flight from Bali to Seoul will depart at 01.25 WITA and arrive at 09.15 am.

The ceremonial event of cutting the ribbon marking the reopening of the Seoul – Bali flight route was carried out by Ambassador Sulis with his wife and Vice President of Garuda Indonesia for International Area and General Manager of Garuda Indonesia from the office in Seoul. There was enthusiasm from South Koreans and other foreigners who were going to Bali with the Garuda airline.

In the period from January to July 2022, as many as 1.2 million foreign tourists visited Indonesia, most of whom had picnics in Bali. The Garuda Indonesia flight for the Seoul-Bali route is one of the efforts to encourage the recovery of Indonesian tourism.
