PROMOTING HALAL TOURISM, STB COLLABORATES WITH SINGER MAHER ZAIN

THE SINGAPORE Tourism Board (STB) collaborated with singer-songwriter Maher Zain to promote halal tourism in Singapore. This regional-scale activity wrapped in three travel videos is part of the “SingapoReimagine” campaign which aims to invite Muslim tourists from Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam to Singapore since the border was opened.

Visitors can access the video series on Visit Singapore’s official YouTube channel and witness Maher’s exciting experience trying new, little-known tourist attractions and the various halal culinary options in Singapore.

This collaboration is one of the various efforts that Singapore has made in attracting and meeting the needs of Muslim tourists before, such as the publication of the Muslim Visitor Guide which provides guidance for Muslim tourists in Singapore, as well as collaborations with several brands and media that have a Muslim tourist market segment.

On Maher Zain’s journey around Singapore, the international singer is accompanied by Shahril Wahid, a host and TV presenter native to Singapore, who shows various destinations and gives the locals’ point of view.

The first episode features Maher Zain’s experience on Sentosa Island to try out the newest SkyHelix Sentosa attractions, get close to marine life and animals at the S.E.A Aquarium and Dolphin Island, and visit Lazarus Island.

The second episode takes visitors to explore some of Singapore’s culturally rich places, such as Kampong Gelam, Katong and Joo Chiat.

In the third episode, Shahril invites Maher to experience various innovative and sustainable lifestyle experiences, such as at the National Museum of Singapore, ION Orchard, Bynd Artisan and Gardens by the Bay for unforgettable experiences. [sources/photo special]
