THE INDONESIA’S Government to become a special economic zone (SEZ) Kura-Kura Bali (KKB) with an investment value of IDR104 trillion and can absorb 99 thousand workers until 2052. The government hopes that in the first five years it can absorb IDR12 trillion and the employment is around five thousand.
According to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, in Bali recently said that Bali Province has two SEZs, namely in the Sanur area and on Serangan Island (Kura-Kura Bali SEZ) which can support the health and tourism industries.
“The Kura-Kura Bali SEZ is specifically aimed at the tourism sector but in addition an international university will also be built and later become a place of research,” said Airlangga.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID), Tuti Hadiputranto said that the Kura-Kura Bali SEZ with an area of around 500 hectares will become a diverse investment location. Starting from international universities, wellness, hospitals, Marina Port.
“Not only hotels that we see a lot in Bali but here there will be an international school, there is wellness, there is a hospital, there is a marina with an international level that we don’t have in Indonesia,” she said.
“So, if now we see that all foreign cruise ships stop by in Singapore, or in Thailand and in Darwin, we are trying now to stop by in Bali,” Tuti remarked.
Tuti Hadiputranto also mentioned that the investment value of IDR104 trillion was not from the company itself but many investors. [sources/photo special]
